Parenting Plan

A parenting plan is a written agreement between parents that outlines how they will share the care and responsibilities for their children after a separation or divorce. This can often be a challenging task as parents want to ensure that they maintain healthy relationships with their children after separation. In our mediation together, we will focus on the best interest of your children and work to create a comprehensive co-parenting plan.

This plan sets out the details of how parents will make decisions about their children's upbringing, as well as the time that the children will spend with each parent. The topics that will be discussed contain a wide range of issues, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Decision-making: The plan will outline how major decisions about the children, such as healthcare, education, and religious upbringing, will be made.

  2. Parenting time: The plan will specify the amount of time that each parent will spend with the children, including regular parenting time and holiday schedules.

  3. Communication: The plan will include details on how parents will communicate with each other regarding their children, such as email, phone calls, or text.

  4. Transportation: The plan will outline how the children will be transported between parents for parenting time.

  5. Dispute resolution: The plan will include a process for resolving disputes that may arise in the future, such as disagreements about parenting decisions.

In mediation, we will break down all the above issues into their smallest workable component and work through each task through collaborative problem solving by considering what is in the best interest of your children.

A detailed parenting plan is a crucial document that helps to provide stability and consistency for children during a difficult time and serves as a framework for co-parenting after a divorce or separation.
